Diet is a term that we do not want to hear somebody say we need to do. It usually means limiting ourselves with the very thing that we love to do which is to eat. That is why people do not look too kindly with the words glycemic index diets. Actually, all diet plans such as Atkins Diet, low carbohydrate diet, South Beach Diet and protein type diet are based on the glycemic index diet. Actually, the GI diet plan is more than just a diet, it is a lifestyle, a way of living.
Dieters who are into the glycemic index diet are advised to choose carbohydrate foods that have low GI or glycemic index. It is already quite popular because there have been testimonials wherein people who are into the diet say that their appetite for food have become less and less per day. Thus, people will no longer overeat which is the reason why we have health and weight gain problems. This is because the less we eat foods that have a higher GI value, the more we can control our appetite, the less the weight gain.
Actually, if I were to get into a diet and stick to it, it would have to be one that as flexible and as uncomplicated as a glycemic index diet. The reason for this is because you will always have options on what kind of food to take and you do not have to remove certain food groups in your diet.
You will always have choices on what kinds of fruits to eat that have a low GI value and you do not have to eat it all the time because as what I have said there are options. Unlike other kinds of diet where you have to stick to what was dictated. So if it is an all-fruit diet, you are stuck with eating fruits all day.
Unlike the GI diet where you can eat meat, eggs, pasta, fruits, vegetables and others provided that you choose the ones that have the low GI value.
